Orlando massacre: Does the right to bear guns outweigh the right to go out without fear of being shot?'

Interview with me on RT on the terrible massacre in Orlando.

Every time we get the same thing, don’t we? US president comes saying: “This has got to stop, we can’t carry on like this.” What happens – they do carry on like this. We do have so much talk about the right to bear firearms. What about the right to go to a gay club on a Saturday night without the fear of being shot? What about that right – the right of people to go about their business without the fear of being gunned down? The gun lobby in America – the reality is, it’s just too strong.

The Second Amendment to the US Constitution is the only true guarantee of the right of self defence. Both from Government and from individuals who would do you harm. Currently the US Government has undermined the right of its Citizens to keep and bear arms by creating 'gun-free' zones (schools, bars, restaurants etc.) where those rights are usurped for the law abiding Citizen.
Surprisingly, those who from what ever motive, choose to commit murder en masse have recognized that 'gun-free' zones are in fact kill zones. The Orlando terrorist discharged in the order of 250 rounds from a handgun and a rifle, having to reload his weapons multiple time. Had an armed Citizen been there the story may have been quite different.
Recent events in Yorkshire prove that the 'bad guys' can always get weapons. Why not the law abiding?
